Managing the Shot List

How to build and organize your must-have photo list for the photographer.

The Shot List tab in the Day-of Hub is where you build your must-have photo list. Items are organized by category — Getting Ready, Ceremony, Family Formals, and so on — so the photographer can quickly find what matters at each stage of the day.

Adding Shots

Click + Add shot in the toolbar. Each shot has:

  • Title (required) — a concise description, like "Bride with bridesmaids" or "Ring detail on invitation suite"
  • Category (required) — the moment or phase it belongs to. Pick from suggestions or type your own
  • Description (optional) — additional context, like "use the garden as backdrop" or "include grandmother's ring"

You can also quick-add to a specific category by clicking the + button on any category header.

Default Categories

Gilded starts you with common categories: Getting Ready, First Look, Ceremony, Family Formals, Wedding Party, Cocktail Hour, Reception, and Detail Shots. You can create your own by typing a new category name when adding a shot.

Editing and Deleting

Click the pencil icon on any shot to edit it, or the trash icon to delete. On mobile, these buttons are always visible. On desktop, they appear on hover.

Reordering

Within a category, use the up/down arrows to reorder shots. To reorder entire categories, drag the category header using the grip handle on the left.

Importing a Shot List

Already have a shot list in a document, email, or spreadsheet? Click Import in the toolbar to paste or upload it. Gilded uses AI to parse the content, organize shots into categories, and create them in bulk. Supported file types: .txt, .csv, .md.

The importer preserves every item from your source — it does not skip or merge entries.

What the Photographer Sees

When you share the timeline with a photographer, they automatically see the shot list alongside their assigned timeline entries and key milestones. No extra setup required — it is included based on vendor type.
