Service Packages

How to define your service packages in Settings so pricing auto-fills when you create events.

Service packages let you define your standard offerings once and reuse them across events. Instead of typing the same pricing and description every time you create an event, you select a package and the details fill in automatically.

Defining a Package

Go to Settings in the sidebar and click the Packages tab. Click New Package to create one.

Each package includes:

  • Name — what you call this offering (e.g., "Full Planning," "Month-Of Coordination," "Day-Of Management")
  • Description — a summary of what is included, which you can pull into documents via sections
  • Price — the total cost for this package
  • Deposit amount — how much is due upfront upon signing

You can create as many packages as you need. Most planners have between two and five that cover their core service tiers.

Using Packages When Creating Events

When you create a new event using the New Event modal, you will see a Package dropdown in the pricing section. Select a package and the price and deposit amount fill in automatically.

You can still adjust the numbers after selecting a package. The package just sets the starting point — if a particular event needs a custom price, change it right there. The package itself is not affected.

Updating a Package

To edit an existing package, go back to Settings > Packages, find the package, and click Edit. Update the name, description, price, or deposit amount and save.

Changes to a package only affect future events. Events that already used the package keep whatever values were set at the time of creation. This means you can raise your prices without worrying about changing numbers on existing contracts.

Deleting a Package

If you retire a service offering, you can delete the package from Settings. Existing events that used the package are not affected — they retain their pricing.

How Packages Connect to Documents

When you create a document for an event that has a package selected, the pricing merge fields ({{total_price}}, {{deposit_amount}}, {{balance_amount}}) pull from the event's pricing — which was set by the package. The package description can also inform the services section of your document.

This means a well-defined package combined with a good template gets you from new inquiry to polished proposal in just a few clicks: create the event, select the package, apply your template, review, and send.

Tips

  • Name packages clearly. Your future self will thank you when you are scanning a dropdown at 10pm.
  • Include deposit amounts. Setting the deposit at the package level means one less thing to remember when creating events.
  • Review pricing seasonally. Update your packages as your rates change so new events always start with current numbers.
